We had our second session last night and it was wonderful. One of the verses we were asked to study and comment on was Jeremiah 15.16. What a great verse. We all found it most edifying!
Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15.16
Created in His image and called by His name … what a wonderful thing to contemplate.

I continue to recover from the viral infection. It wasn’t pneumonia, but barely so. I’m trying to regain strength as well as continuing to deal with issues with my back. I haven’t been able to return to work and that is a concern.
We had our first session in our study “Living by the Book”, which went well in spite of some challenges. We are meeting at Starbucks and noise was an issue at some points as we tried to watch the video. I need to take auxilary speakers next time. Then if we can keep the help from moving tables while we are in session, it will solve the noise issue. We had a good discussion and look forward to future sessions.
I’m still working on my study of 1 Corinthians. Over 900 pages of reading and I am just finishing Chapter 5. Nearly half of those pages come from one commentator. I was grumbling about it and Steve defined the commentaries as follows: #1 is for laypersons; #2 is for laypersons and pastors; #3 is for pastors; #4 is for scholars. Of course, #4 is the one with 434 pages up to the end of Chapter 5. He (Steve) offered to take it off my hands if I felt it was over my head. Such a sweet son. My response is my favorite Greek word … oudemeya … no way!

Well, gee … 11 days after the attack of the creeping crud and I am starting to think I will live. That was by far the nastiest bug I have ever experienced. I finished the last of the meds today. I just hope they killed the beast.
We are starting a new study for women to teach how to read the Bible. I have tapes for each lesson, which David is converting to DVD for me so I can play them on my computer or whatever. I need to spend some time studying today.
In other projects, Dad’s Cruise Book which chronicles his WW2 service in the Pacific was somehow lost in their last move. No one knows what happened to it and it’s not something you can go down to the local bookstore and buy. In checking military.com, I found a guy who was posting a lot of stuff about the division Dad served with and contacted him. He told me I could get the book on CD from the the SeaBee Museum. I did and now have printed out the book for Dad. Today I will get it bound and in his hands. He will be thrilled.

Well, I don’t know where I got it and I wish it would leave … yes, I have the mysterious respiratory flu bug. I started feeling icky on Friday, the 31st, and got progressively worse. I saw the doctor on Tuesday and was put on some heavy duty antibiotics. I have been sleeping for hours at a time and just dragging around otherwise. It’s a good thing I had help here cause I couldn’t think about fixing food. As it was, I couldn’t keep most of it down. You’d think I would have lost weight … maybe about 5 pounds … not much considering.
I feel blah.
