It is sad to think I need to rest up from a day off, but there it is. *wink* Yesterday was the first day since we have moved that David and I have both been here without having many demands on our time. We spent the day getting the rest of the boxes in our dining area unpacked and getting the table out of the garage and into the kitchen. We also went and bought a new bed for me. It was a long, hard day, but we made huge progress. One more day like that and we will be organized! For me, that day is Friday as I have an Additional Day Off since the holiday fell on my normal day off. Three days to recover and get ready for another day of bend and stretch and tote that bale!
For now, it’s off to work for me.

I wish all my friends and family the joy of this season. I am constantly thrilled to realize the implications of what we celebrate on this day. I wish that all my friends and family could share in that joy. I guess that means I need to be more diligent in sharing the Great News!
David and I had a hectic shopping expedition on Friday to finish our Christmas lists. Today we can just enjoy ourselves. We’re going to church, of course, and then will take Mom and Dad out for dinner. After that, the day is open. An open or half open day has been a rarity for us since we moved. We won’t know what to do!

Tonight I am tired and just a little down. It was a hectic weekend with Steve & Anne here. We had the family Christmas gathering. Also, it was the childrens Christmas program at church and that was a lot of work, but so rewarding. Stephanie was Mary. The show was stolen by one of the shepherd boys.
We just had too much to do in too little time. *sigh* Today I had to go to work for the Christmas party for my team. It was supposed to be Sunday, but they changed it to today so that I could be there. It was a good time to go and schmooze with the team, but I was glad I could leave after a bit and come home. :-p

Yesterday was one of those days … you know, the kind of day when you are on the go from the moment your feet hit the floor. And yet, it was an invigorating and extremely satisfying kind of day. Sundays start early at our house. Yesterday, both David and I had to be at church early. It was his week to manage the sound and I had my usual hospitality gig in the kitchen. Stephanie loves to help me with that. We went to lunch after church. Then David took the kids swimming while I went to visit Mom & Dad.
We ended the day with Christmas caroling in the neighborhoods around the church. Stephanie loved it and I managed much better than I thought I would. We probably walked 1½ to 2 miles, but with stops in between to sing at homes along the way. At the end, my back was protesting and I was glad to go back to the church. Today I am a little stiff, but not in pain, so I guess it was a Good Thing all around.
Today I have a long chore list but hope to have the house looking a lot better at the end of it. Steph and I put up the tree Saturday night, so we are looking festive even if not all put together.
David and I are excited that we are able to record episodes of The Way of the Master with the DVR I recently got from my employer. Check out the message from Kirk and Ray!

We are moved, but no where close to being organized. We finally finished the last load and both apartments were clean at almost 10 PM Tuesday. Then the real fun started … putting stuff away! David was determined to get both cars in the garage on Wednesday and it is a good thing he was. The weather turned cold and we got more snow.
Now that we are moved, I don’t mind the snow. It is pretty and not a problem for driving for either of us. My Jimmy loves to run in snow.
I’m trying to put some stuff away every day and slowly making progress. If we could decide how we want to arrange the living room, I could empty lots of boxes.
